The dark and irregularly shaped leaves found in Kirishima are steamed for twice as long as a typical sencha. This process produces an approachable tea with a mild flavor and an especially dark verdant color. This style is a relative newcomer to the world of Japanese green teas and is known for being refreshing and easy to brew. Kirishima is one of our favorite teas to drink cold.
What to expect: A coarse tea that, when brewed, results in a cup with light sediment, notes of cucumber and freshly cut grass, and a somewhat floral aftertaste.
