As global warming and other environmental problems have recently become an international concern, the government, businesses, and consumers tend to prefer products which are less damaging to the environment. Shimayasu launches an initiative “Sincere Ecology Project” for growth and preservation of healthy forests. Shimayasu utilizes the forest thinning of World Natural Heritage Site; Kumano Sanzan and introduces innovative series “Neo Japanesque Han” which presents the harmony of aesthetic sensibility of fine Kishu Lacquer and Kumano’s precious Hinoki wood.
When you view the cross-section of bamboo charcoal under a microscope, you see innumerable micro cavities looking like bundled pipe structure.  The inside area of the micro cavities are measured more than 7,500 square feet per1gram of bamboo charcoal.  It is almost 10 times more micro cavities found than any other types of wooden charcoals. The large surface area is the key characteristic of the bamboo charcoal to perform superior absorption power.

Around 200 years ago, from the late Edo Period into the Meiji Period, a completely novel style of obi (sash for kimono) were manufactured in the Nishijin area of Kyoto.  This new style of textiles included the work and designs of talented Japanese-style painters in the art circles of Kyoto.  When Seisuke Takahashi discovered design books and fragments of kimono fabrics common to those days in a family warehouse, the germination of the concept of seisuke88 was born.
